Bewildering BMC

I confess I’ve tried really hard to understand the developmental measures of the BMC.
And now I’ve frankly given up. Their new campaign is fairly interesting. The move to make Mumbai wi-fi enabled. Personally, it benefits me immensely. I would love to kill further time with my laptop in our wonderful coffee shops sprung all over the city.
However even with various security concerns, the BMC still seems to be pushing the “cause”. And one hears them perpetually complaining about lack of funds and time. Ignoring various civic and security concerns that the city of Mumbai faces their attention seems to be to get free wireless connection available to all its inhabitants.

hmm.. I hope by security you mean the protection of data that is being transferred and not the security of the city of Mumbai. In case you imply the former - point taken, but if its the latter I don't think there is any added danger.

well, added danger? enunciate
Its just a little strage that the BMC seems to be rushing into something like this which is beneficial to just the "elite few" who in any case have broadband access besides ignoring so many other cocnerns of the people of the city affecting the masses at large.

there's just one thing i'd like to say..

"serving the interests of the dominant elite"

it's just so evident the way the BMC, in this case, chooses to prioritise something like wi-fi enabled cafes, as opposed to basic civic security! and then have the face to whine about funds... :)
That's the system, my friend! And also a kind of saddening reality..
